AOL looks to Europe for Ad Revenue (from NYT)
By jason - up to 2007 (archived) • Jan 16th, 2007 • Category: News for Creatives (archives)AOL agreed to buy European ad broker TradeDoubler hoping to gain revenue from the “agency side” as they sold their “user side” broadband services in Britain, France and Germany. It’s no secret that AOL sees their growth in ad sales (a la Google) as they have returned to being a “free” service here in the states.
What’s between the lines? 1. Online ad growth is the key, creative professionals should continue to look online for growth. 2. Send promos to Europe, the money is going in and the audience, since it’s online, is universal; your experience is universal.
