Teen Girls are Always the Target
By jason - up to 2007 (archived) • Jan 19th, 2007 • Category: News for Creatives (archives)Perry Farrell said it best on Henry Rollins’ show this past summer, I’ll do my best to paraphrase from memory…The record labels are only putting out music for teenage girls as they seem to be the only ones spending money on records as most other folks are using online vehicles (napster, itunes) to get their music (end paraphrase).
So a new startup is born, doing its best to wrangle-up the online attention of teenage girls providing them with entertainment and a social network all their own. Of course it’s being sold as a friendly and considerate locale, but c’mon, I wish these companies would just fess up and say, “its where the money is”.
