JupiterResearch States the Obvious (from ClickZ)
By jason - up to 2007 (archived) • Jan 22nd, 2007 • Category: News for Creatives (archives)Reported today on ClickZ is a study/survey with responders stating they don’t like ads in their online content. Who does really? The issue advertisers are facing is micro-management; making sure the ad being displayed is either less intrusive or integrated (a less profitable business as it takes more time/folks to manage it). The issue consumers are facing is “catership”; where consumers have to understand that seeing the ads in tandem with preferred content enables the consumer to see the content at all. I too like a little liberalism in our economy (I’ll trade you my hat for your jacket) but people need to eat, and the alternative to ads (and even subscription models) is a campfire sing-along with your neighbors (which might not be a bad idea).
