Tomoyo Nonaka, Chairwoman of now declining Sanyo Electronics, “resigned as of Monday for personal reasons, ending her career as one of few top female executives at a major Japanese corporation.
The resignation comes when the loss-making company faces an accounting investigation by Japan’s securities watchdog and an increasingly tough business environment in the consumer electronics market, characterised by sharp price falls.”
