Whole Foods and Social Networking
By jason - up to 2007 (archived) • Mar 29th, 2007 • Category: Loose EndsMashable.com informs us that: “Zaadz, a social network or people who “want to change the world” (think: organic foods, meditation, philosophy etc) is announcing today that it has taken investment from John Mackey, CEO of Whole Foods.
Mackey is supposedly an advocate of “conscious capitalism” and supports ethical businesses that respect the planet.
Zaadz is fostering a social network for ethical capitalism, and claims 50,000 members. The funding is being used to launch “zPro”, a suite of tools for small business owners. Zaadz attracts a particular demographic that would make it a great platform for health food retailers and ethical brands.”
The integration of social networking and “socially conscious” big business is relatively new. Have the feeling that many will follow suit.
