“Fourth of July is coming, and that means family gatherings, barbecues, and fireworks, all events that beg for photos and home movies. Don’t fret if you don’t already have a camera or a camcorder, though. Here are four devices you can grab right now and be ready to shoot photos and videos by July 4. They’re simple to use, reliable, and will leave you with enough cash in your wallet to pick up the hot dogs and charcoal on the way home. The Canon PowerShot SD850 and Sony Cyber-shot DSC-W80 both offer great-looking 7-megapixel stills and cost less than $300. They both have VGA video modes, but if you really want to make home movies you should pick up a miniDV camcorder like the Canon ZR850 or the Panasonic PV-GS320.”
