“Verbal shots have been fired on both sides concerning a contentious new policy from the National Football League requiring sideline photographers to wear ads on their vests while working games.
Editor and Publisher reports that both the Associated Press Managing Editors and the American Society of Newspaper Editors have sent letters to the NFL decrying the mandate.
The NFL responded, saying that ad on jackets are nothing new, and appear at other sporting events, such as the Olympics.
