Blu-ray movie sales smash HD DVD in first half of 2007

According to the research group, around 1.6 million BD movies were sold from January 1 to July 1, compared with HD DVD unit sales of 795,000 during the same time.
Although HD DVD developer Toshiba claims that more standalone HD DVD players have been sold than standalone BD players, and most HD DVD players are less expensive, the format war has become lopsided with growing support for Blu-ray.”
