“The awards ceremony for the fourth annual short film and photography competition, conducted recently by the Ashvita art gallery, featured a medley of visuals in both the short film and photography formats. In all, the competition attracted as many as 700 entries. While the photographs were topical in theme, focussing on images that accentuated aspects of life in India, the short films, in both the fiction and non-fiction categories were rooted in a clear sense of perception and underwritten with poignancy.
Held at Sathyam Cinemas, the awards function was attended by eminent members of the film and photography fraternity, including director Ameer, cinematographers K.V. Anand, Kymal and Fouzia, editor Anthony and photographer Sunder. The function included the screening of the selected short films and a slide show of the winning photographs.”
