She’s Got Fire in Her Eyes

“MONROVIA – Tammy Rapp is a photographer. Her husband, Capt. Dave Rapp, is a veteran firefighter.
It was only natural that his job would catch her eye.
The result has been hundreds of photographs Tammy Rapp has taken over the past two years as she has accompanied the Monrovia Fire Department on drills and ride-alongs. She also has taken dozens of photos of various pieces of Fire Department equipment.
Recently, fire Chief Christopher Donovan asked Tammy Rapp to cover the reopening of the fire station at 141 E. Lemon Ave., where some of her pictures are displayed.
Firefighter Ben Bagheri, who works out of the station, admires Tammy Rapp’s work.
“Anyone familiar with photography can tell you what’s most important is an eye for pictures,” he said. “Tammy has natural ability as a photographer. She’s mostly self-taught, although she takes classes, and she has the eye of an artist, a great eye for composition. It’s incredible.”
