PACA Investigates Ethics Complait Against Photolibrary

“Photolibrary fired a controller who sent an e-mail to hundreds of stock photographers about alleged accounting problems at the company.
Additionally, the Picture Archive Council of America confirms that its Ethics and Grievance Committee is investigating a related complaint against Photolibrary.
Photolibrary is preparing a lengthy denial of all the claims the controller made, which it will share with PACA and others when it is complete, Photolibrary Group chairman Tim Moore said in an e-mail.
The claims appeared in an e-mail dated Nov. 11 that newly hired Photolibrary controller Carlos Santos sent to Index Stock Imagery contributors.
Index Stock was a struggling New York stock agency that Australia-based Photolibrary acquired in 2006. As part of the acquisition, Photolibrary assumed Index Stock’s debts, including commissions owed to photographers.”
