Oh Mr. Land, if you could only see into the digital future! Inventor of Polaroid film and instant cameras, revolutionary ideas that changed the photo industry, Mr. Land died in 1991 just as the digital revolution was taking shape (Apple PowerBook 100 anyone?). Land altered the image-making landscape forever, providing immediate image gratification for the masses, influencing the digital desire to shoot and shoot without ever running out of film. Now the Land camera is a novelty, revolutionary ideas only last for so long – as long as it takes for the next great thing to leap the rails and come driving down from another track. We all have to keep moving forward.

This week marks the fifth year we’ve been in business and we couldn’t have done it without you. When we started Wise Elephant in 2003 print mailers were all the rage. We were the innovators, promoting and presenting portfolios through email-marketing and follow-up phone calls. We were right on track then and we’re leaping the rails today. With the proliferation of online video projects, blogs, and networking tools, we keep asking, what’s next? What will be the way contacts find you? What will be the best way to contact them? We know and we’re telling!

In 2008 the pendulum will shift back towards professional content after a year of leaning towards user-generated content. Penny stock has its place, as do amateur online videos, but the value of good craft and compelling ideas is returning to a market that is becoming ever more competitive (and complex) for both the business side and the client side. We will continue to be there for you, clearing the path, as we are dedicated to keeping your work moving, and to making it actively available and find-able.

We’ll be rolling out new services over the coming months, but let us know if there is a service you’d like to see. We’ve been asked to investigate a whole range of new ideas, from health care and business solutions, to the reaching global markets (Asia, Latin America). We’re open to all suggestions – it keeps us moving – and that’s the way we like it.
