By Megan • Jan 16th, 2008 • Category: News for Creatives (archives)“As usual, the gadget blogs are all a-twitter about Steve Jobs’ highly anticipated keynote during MacWorld in San Francisco today. The keynote’s just wrapped up and here are some of the highlights.
• Time Capsule – an appliance that lets you wirelessly back up your work. Basically it’s an Airport Extreme Base Station and a hard drive with 802.11n networking capability.
• New iPhone applications - a slew of new features for the iPhone including a Software Developers Kit (SDK) coming in late February; an improved, more flexible Maps feature; a way to SMS message multiple people at once; a way to add a “webclip” icon of a site you visit frequently to the iPhone’s home screen; an easy way to reorganize the home screen by dragging icons so they “jiggle” into place; simulated GPS by coordinating Google with Wi-Fi hotspots.
• iPod Touch – adds Mail, Maps, Stocks, Notes, and Weather making iPod Touch basically an iPhone without the phone.”
