“Earth to Jupiter?
Getty Images is going private and will stop issuing financial reports. Corbis stopped announcing its revenue figures last year. Solid data about stock imagery trends has always been scarce, and now it’s harder than ever to pin down.
Which brings us to Jupitermedia – a public company and the owner of Jupiterimages, the largest stock agency still obligated to report its finances. We had planned to bring you a report in this space on Jupiter’s fourth-quarter revenues, which were to be announced this afternoon (Wednesday).
Instead, Jupiter put out the following announcement: “Jupitermedia Corporation today announced that its conference call reviewing 2007 4th quarter results has been rescheduled for Tuesday, March 18, 2008…” There was no further explanation.
Flashback: One year ago, Jupitermedia delayed its annual earnings call with exactly the same announcement. But last year we got an explanation: “The rescheduling is due to delays resulting from the discussions with Getty Images, Inc. regarding a potential transaction which were terminated on March 7, 2007. “
