This event will feature Candace Rutt, Ph.D., a Health Psychologist from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and will again feature both lecture and workshop components, on September 21 & 22, respectively. Both events will be held at the IUPUI Campus Center, and certification maintenance credits for both sessions are being requested through AICP.
Part One: Health Impact Assessment – What and Why
Monday, September 21, 2009, 1:30 – 3:30 p.m.
This lecture will enable the audience to learn what a Health Impact Assessment (HIA) is, when and why it should be used, the values that underpin it, and the benefits gained by conducting an HIA when making decisions about policy and projects.
Part Two: Health Impact Assessment – How it’s Done
Tuesday, September 22, 2009, 9:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
This six hour workshop will engage participants in simulated case studies and exercises to apply various elements of HIA methodology.
